BIOGRAPHY
Associazione VIDAVÈ Company ETS, founded and directed by Italian dancers and choreographers Noemi Dalla Vecchia and Matteo Vignali in April 2024, with headquarters at Via Vaccarezza 12, 23883 Brivio (LC), is a young company under 35 that produces contemporary dance performances and workshops for professional dancers both in Italy and across Europe. Their production activity began in 2020 with the work Another With You, which immediately identified them as one of the most interesting young Italian identities in contemporary dance. The work, produced by DancehausPIÙ C.P.N. Supported by Dance Gallery, they were selected for the Vetrina di Anticorpi XL 2020 and performed at numerous Italian festivals until 2021. This duo, which launched their choreographic career, won important awards such as What We Are 2021 by ADEB Udine, a mention at the Theodor Rawyler 2021, Prospettiva Danza Teatro 2021, and had their national debut at the Teatro di Vicenza and their European debut at TanzArtOstWest 2022 in Giessen. From there until 2023, they were associated artists of the National Production Center DancehausPIÙ, with which they collaborated until they began their independent activity as an association. Also in 2021, following their collaboration as assistants to directors Giuliano Peparini and Eleonora Abbagnato on the production of Le 4 Stagioni at the Rome Opera, they were awarded a choreography prize by the directors, with which they created their first work with other performers, Hansel & Gretel Alteration. Already presented as an extract at the Florence Dance Festival 2022, ARTSite Festival 2022, at the Vetrina di Anticorpi XL 2022 and other platforms, with the support of the Centro di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale Scenario Pubblico, it debuted in its complete form at the Teatro Fontana in Milan in 2022. From there, the work toured national and European festivals such as TenDance, Istanbul Fringe Festival, AbanoDanza, 10Sentidos Valencia, F.L.I.C. Festival, Jerusalem Dance Festival, Teatro Abeliano di Bari, Umbria Danza Festival and many others until early 2024. The work was awarded important international choreographic prizes at platforms such as Linkage Platform 2022 in Stara Zagora, International SoloTanz Theater 2023 in Stuttgart and TanzplatformBern2023 in Bern. While producing their first works, one as dancers and the other as choreographers, they furthered their skills through advanced choreographic training courses such as the AterBalletto Foundation's Next Generation Choreographers Course 2022 and the Korzo Theater's Pioneer Project 2023 in The Hague. Vignali began the LBMS course at WholeMovement in New York, which led to his appointment as a Certified Movement Analyst in 2024. These professional training courses in choreography are fundamental to the development of their personal aesthetics and choreographic identity, and support the ongoing teaching activities that both choreographers carry out for national academies including Balletto di Castelfranco Veneto, Accademia Susanna Beltrami, Centro Studi Teatro Carcano, OCDP Verona, and international academies such as Kezer Ballet and Acosta Danza Foundation. In 2023, they launched a research project between movement and speech called Spoken Dance, which will unfold throughout the year through various activities, including the production of two exercise creations entitled Stimmung, which develops a comparison between the phonetic components of spoken language and the use of time and musicality in movement, and Figure Choreografiche, which primarily analyzes rhetorical figures, comparing them to compositional and phrasing methods of movement. This project, to be completed, is supported by the Canal Coreographic Center of Madrid, the Primavera dei Teatri Festival of Castrovillari, and, most importantly, the Residanza 2023 award, which marks the beginning of the artistic collaboration with the National Promotion Body Movimento Danza of Naples, which continues to support the company in its projects. Their solo and group creations have been performed several times at Italian festivals such as Paesaggi del Corpo 2023 in Velletri, Acqui in Palcoscenico 2023, Crossroads Festival 2023, and Futuro Roma Festival. They also made their Italian debut at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples, and their European debut at the Tzawirowania Dance Festival 2024 in Warsaw.Again with Movimento Danza, the company began promoting its work abroad through the Boarding Pass Plus call, co-financed by the European Union, and previously with Dance Gallery through the European Creative Living Lab call, which focused on artistic urban regeneration projects. In 2024, with the beginning of their independent company activity, they received one of the most important Italian awards supporting the production of new contemporary dance, the Biennale Danza 2024 Choreographic Prize. With this award and the support of other national partners such as PACTA dei Teatri, Movimento Danza, and DancehausPIÙ, they created a new group work for their new choreographic repertoire, titled Folklore Dynamics, which will debut at the Biennale Danza Festival in August 2024 and will tour throughout Italy and Europe from 2025. The project is supported by the Ri.E.S.Co Association and the EgriBianco Center of Relevant National Interest, and is a guest performer in the Italian Windows section of the NID Platform 2025.In 2025, the choral work will also feature a new full-length duet project for dancers and authors, titled Coraggio. La felicità non esiste (Courage. Misfortune Doesn't Exist), currently supported by Compagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni and Movimento Danza and still in production. It has already been selected several times on Italian platforms such as Vetrina Anticorpi XL 2025, Cortoindanza 2025, Narãnji Dance Platform 2025, Direction Under30 2025, and Premio Twain Direzioni Altre 2025, as well as international choreographic competitions such as CICBUNY 2025 in Burgos, Spain.
